Lloyd’s List Asia Awards 2015
Berge Bulk won the Safer, Cleaner Seas Award, sponsored by HPH, at the Lloyd’s List Asia awards presented on the night of 28 October 2015 at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore. A new award this year, it celebrates shipping companies making particular contributions to improve environmental and safety standards across the maritime industry.
The Lloyd’s List Award series recognises the industry’s successes, setting a benchmark for excellence while rewarding innovative ideas and concepts that have pushed the boundaries of what is possible.
Berge Bulk has successfully maintained low lost-time-accident rates and reduced its environmental impact by running extensive safety and environmental campaigns. The judges felt that the operator had created a grass-root culture of awareness and responsibility amongst all employees through its continuous and engaging ‘Be Smart, Be Safe’ and ‘Blue Matters’ environmental campaigns, contributing to the company’s excellent results.
The award was received by CEO James Marshall, in the presence of hundreds of the industry’s most senior executives and prestigious maritime players. Mr. Marshall, in accepting the award, thanked all his colleagues and staff in Singapore with a special dedication to all of Berge Bulk’s seafarers “who are living and implementing our safety culture and ‘Blue Matters’ environmental policies every day. It is through their hard work that we are seeing these excellent results!”
Awardees are chosen from entries taken from around the world and adjudicated by a distinguished judging panel. Berge Bulk congratulates the following companies that had been shortlisted along with Berge Bulk in the ‘Safer, Cleaner Seas’ category:
