With increased deforestation in the Amazonian basin, The Envira Amazonia Project protects over 39,300 hectares of tropical forest from activities such as logging and cattle ranching. The project preserves the region’s rich biodiversity, while simultaneously mitigating more than 1.2 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The project also mobilises the local community by creating new economic and social opportunities.
