“Interning at Berge Bulk has given me invaluable insights into the maritime industry. Being part of the Sustainability team gave me the chance to dive into real-world initiatives, both for the crew at sea and teams on shore. I learned a lot about carbon markets, ESG, social media benchmarking, and ship recycling policies. One of the highlights was leading the Batam Clean-Up with Seven Clean Seas, where we managed to remove over a tonne of trash. I also organised tree-planting with the Singapore Maritime Foundation, and a kayak clean-up with Waterways Watch Society. The whole experience has reinforced my passion for helping to drive the maritime industry towards a zero-carbon future.”

As a computer science undergraduate, and understanding how data drives processes, my experience allowed me to make a meaningful contribution.
