Senior Chartering Executive (UK)
This role is part of the global geared chartering team, with a primary focus on the Atlantic markets. You will ensure adequate freight coverage for Handysize to Ultramax vessels, in line with agreed policies and procedures. The Commercial Operations group aims to build a competitive, flexible freight portfolio by trading the spot, period, and forward markets, sourcing COAs, and using FFAs to manage positions. You’ll need to stay informed and have a strong understanding of both your region and the global market. Success in this role depends on your ability to collaborate within the team to devise and execute top-tier trading strategies. Additionally, you should excel at building relationships with existing clients and suppliers while also establishing new trades and customers.
Reporting to the IT Manager, this position is responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud systems and cybersecurity — contributing technically to overall IT support. This hands-on role involves collaborating with service management, compliance, and IT risk management teams to ensure infrastructure and security meet best practices and regulations. You will work with business partners to manage delivery and continuous improvement, ensuring IT systems’ continuity and driving strategic initiatives to modernize the environment. Support application owners and provide design insights for fleet infrastructure and security.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, productive and cost-effective Cargo Care and Hold Cleaning for the company’s bulk carrier fleet, adhering to Charter Party terms and company policies. As Port Captain, you will collaborate closely with the Operations and Chartering teams to ensure efficient hold cleanliness, cargo stowage, and pre-stow planning for maximum cargo lift and no delays. You will work with ship operators, masters, officers and surveyors to maintain hold fitness, and ensure smooth terminal and customer operations. The role may require onboard and port travel to assist with cargo surveys, hold preparations, trim and stability calculations, and incident investigations. Additional responsibilities include conducting speed consumption studies, managing port calls, and providing reports and recommendations.
