Berge Tateyama was delivered to us on 28 April 2020 at 0839 hours (local Singapore time). The 63,000 DWT bulk carrier will be sailing under the flag of Isle of Man and she marks our second entry into the Ultramax segment together with Berge Yotei.
The vessel is named after Mt. Tate (more commonly known as Tateyama) which stands in the southern area of Toyama Prefecture, Japan. At 3,015m, it is one of the tallest mountains in the Hida Mountains (also known as Northern Alps). Tateyama is also one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains” along with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Haku.
